Bernar Venet au château de Versailles

After Takashi Murakami, it is now the turn of Bernar Venet to exhibit his work at the Palace of Versailles from today until the 1st of November.

The French artist, who is based in New York and was initially supported by César, will showcase his minimal and conceptual art with a collection of 7 pieces in the Palace of Versailles gardens and in the Marly Estate.
Less well known than Murakami or Koons with what some would call less accessible work that is often subject to criticism, Bernar Venet will not be put on display inside the Palace, but rather in the grounds. Among the exclusive works are a 22 metre rusted metal arch which encircles the equestrian statue of Louis XIV.

From June 1st to November 1st 2011
For the works exhibited in the gardens of Versailles:
The exhibition is free, except for the Grandes Eaux musicales days (every Saturday and Sunday, in addition to certain weekdays) and the Jardin musicaux days (some Tuesdays)
