Bert Simons

Bert Simons is a Dutch artist who specialises in the art of creating photo-realistic sculptures out of paper.

On his site, the artist takes you through the process step by step. First of all he places a series of markers on a real-life model, to help him with the 3D modelling work on his computer. The next stage, texturing, is the most difficult part of the process. Once it is finished, Bert prints a 2D version, which he then has to cut, fold and stick onto a cardboard bust. As you can see, the results are worth the effort!
