Nissan Cube & Slow design

A sneak preview from the Slow Gallery for the launch of the Nissan Cube, a car with a cube-shaped body inspired by the idea of “Slow Design”.

A symbol of the individuality from the land of the rising sun, the Nissan Cube is unique in that it has been designed with the least possible number of right angles. The lines of the car respect the principles of slow design – an alternative to speed, excess and blunt imprecision.

We see better when we do things slower, in the same way as we notice every detail when a film is played back in slow motion.

It’s this spirit that has caused several artists and fashion personalities to associate themselves with the “Slow Design” project – notably the handbag designer Jérôme Dreyfus who was quickly spotted by the bloggers and interviewed by our friend Christian Poulot of Modalogue about his brand Agrocouture.

This model will be available in France in November, and will be unveiled later today at the Geneva MotorShow.

The photos were taken by the excellent James Bort.
