TAG au Grand Palais

We were invited to a private viewing of TAG, an exhibition that brings together 300 canvases from 150 international graffiti artists. Their works will be on display in the Grand Palais until 26 April 2009.

Alain Dominique Gallizia is the driving force behind this exhibition. Each artist has two canvases for two different themes: the first picture is the artist’s signature, whilst the second is their personal representation of love.

There are also works from legendary street artists such as TAKI 183, who is considered the pioneer of Tag. This young Greek runner             wrote his name, along with the number of his house, on every building he has ever inhabited. Other noteworthy artists include Phase 2 and the French Bando.

It’s a first for this type of urban art, and came about because Alain Dominique Gallizia, who has worked for three years to gather all the works in the same place, wanted to preserve these normally short-lived pieces of art before their urban canvas was destroyed.

From 26 March to 27 April 2009 at the Grand Palais.
