Takashi Murakami au Château de Versailles
The Japanese artist Takashi Murakami is currently exhibiting at the Château de Versailles where his manga creations are displayed against the backdrop of the Queen’s Grand Apartment and the Hall of Mirrors.
If you think you can bear the hoards of tourists who flock to the palace all year, you’ll be able to admire some of Murakami’s contemporary pieces set in contrast with Versailles opulent interior.
A huge Buddha throne, and a multi-coloured totem stand in the Room of Abundance whilst screens around the palace show some of Murakami’s manga animations and the floor is covered with one of Takashi’s favourite floral print rugs.
Even though the exhibition has produced some extreme, and not always favourable reactions, we enjoyed it and we give you just one advice: avoid the week-end !
