La Note Rouge

We have discovered a new location for wine lovers, situated between the Montorgueil and Marais districts on rue Saint Martin.

La Note Rouge is a new independent wine merchant, born from the dream of three friends whose passion for wine prompted them to shatter suddenly their daily, office-based routine in order to get this project underway.

It is not the labels on the bottles that count here, but rather the wine itself: the selection reflects the layout of their shop – toned-down and airy.

Instead of wooden crates filled with bottles, here there is a selection of the best wines in their cellar, organised by region, with some nice surprises like Jacquesson champagne, the fantastic Nobilis, the Auxey Duresses or even the Châteauneuf du Pape, all at very affordable prices.

As for the team, they are not Parisian born and bred and their accent gives them away, but it’s also what creates the charm of this place. Tasting sessions are organised every Friday with one of the wine producers.

Head along without a specific name or château in mind and you will probably come back, like us, with a crate full of good bottles… forgetting that you arrived on two wheels!

L’orthographe bancale trahit certainement mes origines “non-françaises”.
