The sushis

Before presenting us with the magnificent red lacquered case, the Sushi Shop team welcomed us into their kitchens to demonstrate the intricate preparations behind the 10 different pieces that make up the Red Box.

From popular classics such as the Salmon Roll or the tuna or prawn sushi, to original creations like the Tulip Avugra, which is one of my personal favourites.

In total, 36 pieces to share with a gastronomic couture selection from the Sushi Shop menu, all given the seal of approval by the watchful eye of Kenzo Takada: “Sushi reinvented using superior ingredients yet remaining incredibly authentic. A true compliment coming from a true Japanese man like myself.”

Red Box by Kenzo Takada : Cherry Time

“The cherry flower to represent the magical springtime from my childhood. The reds and pinks to represent the colours of fashion. The box as a precious chest to keep jewellery or love letters.”.

The Japanese couturier drew inspiration from these flowery, bubbly sources to create the Red Box, which has become a veritable treasure trove for the taste buds under his careful artistic guidance.

We never thought we would meet Kenzo Takada in this setting. A character full of charisma with a sense of kindness like no other, which left us all simply enchanted.

Sushi Shop and the Red Cross

After the tragic events that shook Japan, the archipelago has joined a movement of solidarity, continued across the world by the French and Japanese Red Cross, among others. Kenzo Takada and Sushi Shop have answered the call for donations in support of worthy cause.

For every Red Box sold (50€), Sushi Shop will give 2€ to the French Red Cross who will pass on the money to the Japanese organisation.
