Aston Martin Rapide (1ère partie)

The Aston Martin Rapide, soon to be available in Europe, is the most beautiful 4-door saloon in the world.
In our first article dedicated to this exceptional car, we will discuss development and production. Next time: design.
Made and assembled in the new factory in Graz, Austria, the Aston Martin Rapide enjoys the best of both worlds; manual production alongside the most advanced technology. This dedicated factory is managed by Magna Steyr, the project’s official partner.
The team dedicated to the manufacture of the Rapide (AMRP) in Graz is comprised of a manager, a quality control supervisor, twenty engineers and two hundred and forty technicians and workers. The Aston Martin Rapide is obviously not assembled all in one go, like most cars on the market. This car benefits from being made in several stages, each one requiring more than two hundred and twenty hours of manual work.
Potential clients are invited to see for themselves the incredible amount of work that goes into producing this car, by visiting the workshops and factories, as well going on a ‘journey of initiation’ that notably includes a room designed by Bang & Olufsen, which reproduces the extraordinary sound system present in the Aston Martin Rapide. The high point of the show? A test-drive on the German motorways. That should be enough to win over the crazy unconvinced client.
Join us for the next episode, where we will discuss design and aesthetics.
