Dior VIII, entre Vendôme et Montaigne
We spent a day in the salons of Christian Dior to discover the Dior VIII, the latest watch from the French couture house.
We met Laurence Nicolas, the President of Dior Watches, at VIII Place Vendôme in the brand’s salon for jewellery and watch making. There he told us the history of Dior VIII, a brand new watch for women that makes us green with envy.
We are talking about a women’s watch that is available in several different models, among which we have picked out the most simple and therefore the most masculine: the Dior VIII 38mm.
The case, bezel and strap are made from black ceramic while the dial is in black lacquer, which gives this automatic watch a rare elegance.
“Elegance is everything, where the invisible is as important as the visible” Christian Dior
We then met the truculent Raymond, a master watchmaker who told us more about the watch while teaching us where to place the luminescent hands, and showing us almost the entirety of the watch’s inner workings.
The day’s programme included a visit to the Christian appartments in avenue Montaigne, with a famous passage in the Haute Couture Salons that you can see in photos below.
