Samsung Blue Earth

The Samsung Blue Earth, unveiled last week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, takes eco-friendly to a new level.

Operated entirely via its touch-screen, it is recharged using solar power gathered by the large panel covering the back of the phone. Without a straight edge in site, the design is as appealing as its environmental credentials: the blue case is made entirely of post-consumer plastic waste from recycled water bottles. No toxic materials are used in the manufacture of the phone.

Furthermore, the phone has an eco-lifestyle interface designed to educate the user about how to live a ‘greener’ life: a pedometer continuously shows you the number of trees you have saved by travelling on foot instead of by motorised transport, by calculating the CO2 emissions saved.

As for the packaging – it is made entirely from recycled paper. This is one of the most interesting mobiles around, but unfortunately there is currently no scheduled release date.

    Très bonne idée, dés qu’il sort, je l’achèterai je pense! Reste a voir le prix par contre xD !

    Et l’Iphone n’est pas le seul téléphone sur cette planète …

    Enfin un téléphone éco mais qui reste pratique et surtout tendance ! :-)

    Rien à voir avec l’I-phone qui est encore partiellement bridé et totalement gadget !

    c est clair c est trop une bonne idee, panneau solaire j avais ecrit a bouygues en 1998 la firme me disait impossible etc!! avec un panneau solaire derriere le mobile peut durer beaucoup plus longtemps en autonomie, j ai un nokia n96 autonomie incroyablement nulle, en une journee la batterie en faible en surfant ou env qq sms mms du n importe quoi
