Tesla S
We rarely get excited about the launch of a new car, but the Tesla S has restored real meaning to the phrase automotive innovation by offering a 5-door sports saloon that boasts impressive performance figures, despite being powered solely by electricity.
With a range of about 260km on a full charge of just 45 minutes, the Tesla S can go from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.6 seconds, with perfectly smooth acceleration thanks to its single gear.
With the price set at a very reasonable 41,000€, a full charge will set you back… 3.50€.
A cross between the fierce and contoured design of the Maserati Gran Turismo and their own roadster, Tesla’s Model S turns on its head the idea that electric cars (not to be confused with hybrids) have to resemble a yoghurt pot and cannot be fun to drive.
Release scheduled for early 2012.
