Veuve Clicquot : DesignBox

For more than 20 years, Veuve Clicquot has actively improved its environmentally friendly credentials across its whole range of activities. Continuing this commitment is the exclusive DesignBox, a new eco-friendly packaging reinterpreted specially for the occasion by Tom Dixon, Front Design and the talented French group 5.5 designers, which will be unveiled at the Milan furniture fair.

The concept of the DesignBox is to create a box out of a single material (paper), thus avoiding difficulties when it comes to recycling, as well as polluting manufacturing processes. Both flexible and well made, the box uses the process of ‘micro grooving’ to reduce the amount of paper, glue and solvent required, whilst maintaining a solid structure.

At Veuve-Clicquot, innovation is also accompanied by style, and this time there is collaboration with some famous names such as Andrée Putman, Karim Rashid and Pablo Reinoso. To celebrate this eco-friendly box, Tom Dixon, Front Design and 5.5 designers were given the task of creating a piece of furniture that embodies the moment of tasting a glass of champagne.

Their pieces will be on display at the Milan furniture fair under the name “Out of The Box”. For the lucky ones amongst you who have the chance to go, you will find them in the Superstudio+.
