Dior Homme

Formerly called ‘Dior Monsieur’, Dior Homme was transformed into a fully-fledged masculine universe under the control of artistic director Hedi Slimane. Since he first took charge of Dior Homme in 2000, he has given the luxury brand a complete makeover. He introduced skimpy, tight-fitting outfits, skinny jeans, tailored and leather jackets and high-top trainers.

Pre-pubescent and playing with the boundaries of masculinity and femininity, the male image promoted by Dior Homme embodies the style of a whole generation. The luxury brand has also expanded and brought out fashion and home accessories, including the particularly popular Dior Homme aftershaves and candles.

After Hedi Slimane left the fashion house, the brand decided to take a different direction and so named Kris Van Assche the new director of Dior Homme. The Belgian designer drew upon the existing Dior archives to help create some new looks for the label. Kris Van Assche gave a more relaxed approach to the Dior designs, which could be considered a bit too rigid in their style. Working just as well on the inside as the outside of clothes, Kris Van Assche creates neutral, plain and efficient pieces.
