Chopard sur la Mille Miglia
Chopard has partnered the historic Mille Miglia for over 20 years. It is without a doubt the most stunning car race, fiercely competed by drivers who are passionate about classic racing cars.
Mille Miglia : The Race
The race was first established in 1927 to put endurance cars to the test on normal roads rather than circuit tracks. A gruelling feat, not just for the cars’ mechanics, but also the drivers who had to cover the famous ‘thousand miles’ from Brescia to Rome.
Ferrari 250 Europa GT, Maserati 250s, Alfa Romeo 6C, Aston Martin DB2, BMW 328, Jaguar D-Type, Merceds 300SL… legendary cars who continue to aim for the ultimate prize: to lead the race.
Nicknamed “the most beautiful race in the world” by drivers thanks to its figure of eight course around Bologne, Gambettola, Florence, San Marino and of course Rome.

This phrase by Karl Friedrich Scheufele, himself an avid collector of old cars, perfectly summarises the passion that inspires every driver. The precision and elegance of the mechanics should stand the test of time to become simply timeless.
The 1000 Miglia
Since 1988, Chopard has equipped Karl Friedrich Scheufele with an automatic Chronograph watch, engraved with their names. Some drivers still wear their first edition watch from over 20 years ago and keep collecting them every year.
Two versions of the 1000 Miglia are available in stores with a limited edition of stainless steel models linked to the year of release (2010 = 2010 models), and a limited version of only 250 models in 18-carat pink gold.
1000 Miglia 2010 GT XL Chrono 2010 Edition
The 1000 Miglia GT XL Chrono 2010 has aerodynamic lines, giving it a sporty feel, with a generous 44mm-diameter casing. Its grey face made of brushed steel has an anti-reflective screen with sapphires to enable a clear view of both the hour and the minutes in every driving situation.
With regard to performance, the watch is powered by a mechanical self-winding movement, which results in an exceptional 46-hour power reserve. The chronometer is of course certified by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres – Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute).
