De Fursac, l’homme moderne

For decades now, De Fursac has been impressing us with its own unique idea of French elegance.
It is one of those labels that everyone seems to know, or appears to know. It was with this pre-conceived idea that we went to meet the people behind this hugely successful brand, and we weren’t disappointed to say the least!
It was at the company’s headquarters, located at the historic Parisian boutique of 112 rue de Richelieu, that we got the chance to go behind the scenes of the label.
First created in 1973, Monsieur De Fursac has always offered very high quality men’s clothing and has always been up there when it comes to well-tailored suits with modern yet still classic cuts.
The menswear label De Fursac has come a long way since then, although it has never strayed away from its signature style. We’re sure some of you can remember the publicity campaign in 2005 with Tony Parker, but its now the well-known TV presenters Yann Barthès, Harry Roselmack and Xavier De Moulins who embody the brand’s style the best.
Best-known for their suits, the label has been working on a large range of ready-to-wear pieces for the past few seasons, which you can have a look at with this lookbook.
This includes suits, but also knitwear, shirts, t-shirts and coats, which are all made with the same level of high craftsmanship and strike the perfect balance between formal and casual chic.
Far from the crazyiness of some of the designs we see parading around the fashion shows these days, De Fursac is more about creating a smart and sophisticated feel.
This is the main focus of the brand, which updates their pieces without straying too far from their classic, trademark style. The label boasts loyal shoppers, yet is also always attracting newcomers to the brand. Although the collection is very fitted, you don’t have to be a certain body type to wear the brand, as everyone can find something to suit them.
Their expertise in tailoring is obvious, yet you might not be aware that their style is European and that they use the best Italian cloth suppliers to produce their clothes, particularly the highly exclusive Superissimo 150 AAAAA fabric from Cerruti.
What we love the most about this high-quality brand is the precsion of its pieces. So keep an eye out, as some new designs should be coming out very shortly. But we will tell you about that another time…
