Les Ateliers Ruby x Maison Martin Margiela

For the third edition of the short program “Signature” from the Ateliers Ruby, Jérôme Coste has called upon Maison Martin Margiela.
So, on the cusp of their 20th anniversary, all the designers and artists who have collaborated with 163 rue St-Maur have signed the famous Pavillon helmet.
The carbon fibre body is varnished and then coated using large brush strokes with “Maison White”, in order to obtain a “Blanc de Meudon” effect – multiple visible coats of a pure but imperfect white – the universal signature of Margiela. On top of this you can feel, with your eyes shut, the involvement of each and every contributor as they have all engraved their names or initials into the layer of white paint, which has then been sealed with a matte varnish. The helmet is also unique due to its black leather interior, in place of the classic cardinal-red of the Ateliers Ruby, as well as its chrome and white logo and a hidden Ruby girl!
Available in Colette from April.
