LuisaViaRoma Firenze

LuisaViaRoma

A few weeks ago we visited LuisaViaRoma in Florence, a store well known in both Italy and around the world, (thanks to its online shop), as a Mecca for fashionistas.

Although our article obviously focuses on the store from a male perspective, it also caters for the fairer sex with an impressive range of womenswear lines.

LuisaViaRoma

The store itself spans 3 floors and 1000 metres squared and offers a unique selection of clothes and accessories ranging from commercial pieces, to more exclusive, niche items by designers such as Dsquared, Moncler, Damir Doma and Rick Owens.

However it is clearly Italian brands that are given pride of place with Neil Barrett products, for example, stocked in large quantities.

Out of LuisaViaRoma’s 3 floors, it was the menswear level that caught our eye and most particularly its shoe selection, which included creations by Giacomorelli. Sequins, tassels, studs and ribbons…an exquisite selection of designs with something for every taste.

A special mention also has to go a pair of blue-soled Jil Sander shoes!

And that was before we stumbled upon Cor Sine Labe Doli’s famous ceramic bowties…

Without a doubt one of the most eye-catching pieces was a pair of slippers designed by Haider Ackermann, (rumoured to one day be a possible successor to Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel).

The structure of this Rick Owens shirt was equally impressive.

TWO LOOKS

I put together two contrasting outfits made up of my favourite pieces from the store. Whilst the first has a “biker” look about it, the second is for evening, cocktail party-wear.
