Petit Bateau Mixte

Petit Bateau has unveiled its new collection, Mixte, which revisits basic items for adults.

It is obvious to everyone that Petit Bateau has the wind in its sails at the moment. A new identity, well-chosen models (MGMT…), and clever collaborations (Gilles & Masaya of Kitsuné) have helped the brand to reinvent itself – take a look at their mini-website: Mixte.

The summer 2009 adult collection plays on the effectiveness of opposites: day/night, top/bottom, boy/girl… and blurs the distinction between items: the leggings and t-shirts are separate but look like a one-piece – the outlines are not clear-cut.

It’s worth mentioning that this collection has been co-designed by fashion personalities such as Tamara Taïchman, founder of the brand Tila March.

The Petit Bateau lookbook displays a complete range of underwear, as well as some beautiful basics, all in the same style as this smock, and as suited to men as to women. As for the quality and the finish, we were blown away.

The collection will go on sale in the “29 Juillet” boutique (9, rue du 29 Juillet 75001 Paris, opposite Colette). You can also shop online at the Petit Bateau online store.
