Pharrell Williams à Miami : W & The Selby

Pharrell Williams is one of the greatest male style icons and Miami one of our favourite cities. So, naturally, when certain people were invited to his den, Skateboard P, in the Magic City, we could only watch and admire, with eyes wide open.

Todd Selby was invited to Pharrell’s pad in Miami and has published photos of his “mansion”. This “Big crib” could very easily be another Emmanuel Perrotin gallery, seeing the amount of works of art on display (Murakami, Kaws…) in amongst all the Louis Vuitton trunks.

W Magazine : Life on Neptunes
W Magazine shot Pharrell Williams in his fortieth floor condo on Palm Island, a veritable temple to materialism.
In addition to the extravagant – but enjoyable – list of all the impressive possessions that the artist owns, you can read a very interesting interview conducted by Mayer Rus.
“Living your life 40 floors up, looking out every day on ocean and skies, you see the world from a different point of view. It’s like living in a very interesting fishbowl, but since no one can see up here, it’s like a fishbowl with a limo tint.”

Impressionnant. Et plutôt bien résumé par W : “a mess of Murakamis, a closetful of kicks and enough Vuitton trunks to sink a steamer.”
Je l’aime bien Pharrell mais il faut vraiment lui dire que sa piscine est hideuse. C’est tout le problème de Miami, ça tombe souvent dans le mauvais goût.
Mais quelle vue ! WTF are we still doing in Paris ?
