Ralph Lauren Saint Germain
Ralph Lauren has just opened a new store at 173 boulevard Saint Germain, in a magnificent sixteenth-century-style hotel. Let us give you a tour!
Passing through ‘place de la Madeleine’ and ‘avenue Montaigne’ you come to the ‘Saint-Germain-des-près’ quarter, which plays host to this American icon and its sublime – there really is no other word – 2150m2 boutique.
The entire world of the designer, represented by his different lines and labels, is spread over the five floors in what can thus be described as the biggest of the European flagship stores.
On the ground floor is a watchmakers’ boutique that presents precious timepieces in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Having taken a seat on one of the leather stools, under the imposing chandelier of this private library, and started to discuss pocket watches with the manager, the conversation actually turns to photography and my camera: now that’s what you call an exchange of pleasantries!
You will also come across a selection of accessories for men and women (vintage jewelled sunglasses).
Climb the steps of the grand staircase, whose walls are decorated with 18th century paintings (or take the cast iron elevator), to reach the first floor – home to the women’s range. Clothes and accessories from the Blue Label and Black Label lines occupy the lounge and the adjacent rooms, and walking along the wings of the building lets you catch a glimpse of the inner courtyard (as well as the neighbouring Sonia Rykiel boutique).
The second floor is dedicated to the men’s range, where we find the Purple Label and Black Label lines in a setting that exudes elegance and glamour: bespoke and made-to-measure suits, fitted shirts, embroidered ties and well-polished shoes surrounded by wooden panelling and the aroma of whisky.
The third floor is reserved entirely for elegant male sportswear: Blue Label and Polo Ralph Lauren sit side by side in surroundings that exude the ‘American Sports Club’ feel – braided and embroidered jackets, big V-neck jumpers and sports bags.
The fourth and final floor is a subtle contrast, in honour of the Double RL line that is inspired by the rough-and-ready world of the cowboy: tanned leather and scruffy jeans occupy a room whose décor cleverly combines vintage decorations and blossoming bouquets, whilst being rife with the patriotism of the Stars and Stripes.
The American way of life permeates every floor of this ‘twisted’ Parisian building, and you are left daydreaming about scenes from ‘An American in Paris’.
David Lauren, the son of Ralph, tells me about the philosophy behind their fashion boutiques: “It’s about the feeling of having been here before; to feel at home on a journey through history told by Ralph Lauren, in a unique setting.”
In fact, each boutique is conceived and planned individually, and in this case the designers have managed to renovate this special hotel without spoiling it. Having read our article, you will have realised that we are spellbound by this remarkable achievement!
And finally, to top it all, on the 26th of April Ralph Lauren will also open Ralph’s, a gourmet restaurant serving traditional American food, on the ground floor of the boutique. You cross the porch and can appreciate the shaded inner courtyard where the apartments breathe American chic – an oasis of antiquity.
In the near future we will give you more details about this restaurant in another article, where we will talk burgers (obviously), Maine lobster, Maryland crab and doggy bags – they are all on the agenda!

Tu es vraiment satisfait de ton appareil alors ? J’hésite à me le prendre. J’ai peur que l’objectif Pancake ne soit pas suffisant pour tout, et que l’absence de zomm face défaut. Et les autres objectifs sont assez chers quand même…
Tu n’utilises que celui-ci ?

j avais entendu parler de cet évenement sur un autre blog, mais il y a plus de photos ici … Hâte de remonter sur Paris pour faire un tour !
photos super jolie, Ralph Lauren réussi son coup, on est ébloui !
Je bosse juste à côté (à environ 50 mètres) et ce fut un réel plaisir de visiter ce Ralph Lauren qui ressemble vraiment à un musée! Petit vue sympathique de la Tour Eiffel au dernier étage! Superbes photos.

This seems like a overseas version of the Chicago flagship…this pictures of the Paris Mansion are STUNNING! I cannot wait to visit! Paris is in for a treat at Ralph’s also..the restaurant in the Chicago store is amazing!

Me fait bien rire tes histoires de retouches… Perso, elles ont été faites dans un délai de quelques heures et par une couturière qui semblait plutôt bien connaître son métier !
En plus, je le précise le vendeur avec lequel j’ai eu la chance de m’entretenir était fort sympathique et fort compétent !
Si cela se trouve, ce que tu nous racontes n’est qu’un mensonges éhonté !
